Artwork for The Softwire's Rings of Orbis
Igor Knezevic
Igor won the International 3D award for Best Architectural Visualization in Copenhagen, Denmak. Igor's attention to detail and his passion to understand how the rings functioned really made his imagery come to life.

Igor started with a scale 3D model of the Rings of Orbis. He created a quicktime movie where I could see what it would be like standing on Orbis 1 for a whole rotation (one year on Orbis). I have to admit when I saw this I was floored. It gave me a whole new perspective to my writing about Orbis and even sparked and idea for book four. You'll have to wait to find out though. If I told you it would give to much away.
For each environment Igor created a study of textures and shapes. After reading the book and discussing the alien philosophy of OIO, Igor brought a whole batch of fresh ideas to the table. We would discuss the effects of decay when Orbis was left by the Ancients, the War of Ten Thousand Rotations and the look after the Citizens made Orbis their home and began reconstruction.

This is the Trading Chambers in the city of Nacreo on Orbis 1. Of all the paintings by Igor this one is the most complete (except for Palk).

Igor still refines and adds little details to all of his environments. I think he will be for some time. Igor is a perfectionist and the amount of detail in his paintings is very high.
